This is a thick, shaggy, artisanal and glorious Beni-Ouarain carpet, woven in pure cream wool with an ash grey at the beginning and then black lozenge design. Line discontinuity at the top and asymmetry of the patterns at the bottom translate the spontaneity of the Berber weaver, and give to this rug all its uniqueness. The pile is hand trimmed so has a lovely 'hand worked' aspect, and it is finished with a chunky hand knotted fringe.
